The National Ski Patrol (NSP) commitment is ten patrol days per season (about one weekend per month). The required Outdoor Emergency Care first aid course consists of about fifty hours of classroom time over a period of three months (this may vary). Full NSP certification training requires an additional two or three weekends and about six evenings. Annual CPR, first aid & trail refresher courses require two or three days per season. Additional training opportunities are available for those who want more.

There is a nominal fee for the Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) course. Included for the fee are the excellent textbooks and the NSP Ski Patroller's Manual, as well as the instruction. Your equipment doesn't have to be the best gear available.

We have three main levels of membership: Candidate, Auxiliary and Alpine Patroller. Once you become an Alpine Patroller you may also work towards Senior and Certified Patroller.
